Fancy New Driver - Same Old Handicap?
So, you're a 15-handicap golfer and you bought yourself a big new shiny driver with
the huge head made of all that exotic out-of-this-planet metal, right?
-- by Henry Dubois, Inventor of The Align-Drive
You have played with your new driver four or five times and guess what? You still have a 15 handicap.
Well, SURPRISE, it's not the club. Do you think good golfers and professionals do nothing
but play golf? I don't think so. What a lot of amateur golfers don't realize is that the golfers they
see on TV playing on weekends didn't get there by luck or some kind of predestination. They got there
because they worked really hard at their game and PRACTICED. I mean, they practiced lots and
lots and lots. And guess what they practiced? They practiced the basic fundamentals of the game:
grip, posture, alignment and ball position.
If you ever watch the pros warming up at the driving range they'll always lay down a club parallel to their
feet aimed at the intended target. Then they proceed to hit ball after ball after ball and ingrain the move
that they're making. What they're also ingraining is the feel of being aligned correctly to their target
and having the ball in the proper position in their stance. That's fundamental golf. Sure, they practice the trick shots or the difficult shots that they might encounter occasionally. But the majority of their practice
is on the fundamentals.
The problem many amateur golfers have is that they don't know how to practice or what to practice. But they know
how to go to the driving range and "hit golf balls."

I'm amazed at the number of hitters (that's what I call them) that I see when I go out to "practice" at my favorite range.
These poor chaps don't even have a clue what to practice. They're just out there slapping golf balls to an open field.
When they're done they pack it up and think they've had a good "practice session." Next time you're at the driving range just
look around you and notice who is "practicing" and who is just "hitting balls." You'll spot the ball hitters
in an instant and you'll also spot the serious golfers. They're the ones practicing with a purpose in mind. Same routine,
methodical and very deliberate.
Sometimes when I practice I'll be half way through my golf balls and someone
will set up right next to me. They finish long before I'm done even though we both hit the same
number of balls. Amazing! Then, when they play every now and then, I suppose they wonder why they don't get
any better. The answer is simple: in order to improve you have to practice and you have to practice
the fundamentals. That is the only way you're going to get better at this game.
The best way to practice the fundamentals is with a device that automatically aligns you to the target
and correctly positions the golf ball in your stance for every club in the bag. The Align-Drive does just
that and all for less the cost of most green fees. If you'd like to try one out, give us a call at 1-800-495-2921

improve you have to practice the fundamentals: grip, posture, alignment and ball position.
